Flowers for Friday – congratulatory – unknown name

DSC_8014

I’m not sure what these are called. I feel like we’ve had this discussion before and Squirl or Texas Seestor came up with the name. But I can’t find that post. Anyway, they are certainly the hardiest of all of the cut flowers. And when I looked at them up close, one of the prettiest.

I hope these perk up your day. I know looking at them cheered me up. :-)

Lovely pictures. Glad to hear that these are holding up well. I think the name is astromedia.

Yes, I knew that Texas Seestor came up with the name. I’m glad she commented because I’d forgotten it. :-)

Beautiful flowers. For some reason they remind me of tiger lilies, even though I know that isn’t it. I really love flowers. :) I got some daisies the other day that brightened up the place.

    Anyway, you are doing great.

I thought these were called “astromedia,” too, but I have learned they are Alstroemeria (syn. Alstremeria), commonly called the Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants.
