Happy Halloween! – Part II

and in large

I got home at 6:00 tonight and decided that since it was still light out, that I had time to carve my pumpkin before the trick-or-treat-ers arrived.

It carved really easily. I wonder if that is because it is a few weeks old or because it wasn’t as ripe? I don’t know, but it was WAY easier.

I took that photo with a tripod. I really like how it came out. Hence the post. ;-)

“Oh! What do you have there?”

“Yum! Starbursts and 3-Musketeers and Twix and… Milky ways!”

“Lets be sure to save the bag of special dark chocolate for the end. Kids like Starbursts better anyway, right?” *wink wink*

That pumpkin is nice. I’ve never carved one, so I would never be able to wait until the last minute. It appears that GG isn’t boycotting you after the wig incident.

Isn’t it nice, Ern? I really like it.

Squirl! You’ve never carved a pumpkin? I say it is time to rectify that! It is such an unusual medium to try something artistic, but it really is fun. And when it is dark and you put the candle in it, it is just *magic*

Danielle, that pumpkin is AWESOME! How clever of you, turning it on its side like that! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one done that way. It looks great!

    P.S. Girlie-girl didn’t wear her “costume” to greet the trick-or-treaters? :)

    Ladybug,

It is so good to hear from you! Twice even!!

The pumpkin on its side isn’t my idea. I’d heard about it a few years ago, but had never done it until now. I’m glad you think it is so awesome – I’m pretty fond of how it turned out myself. I just wish I’d had more trick-or-treaters to see it. I was one of 2 houses on our little jut off of the main circle, and it was really cold so most kids skipped our jut.

And no, the Girlie-girl rebelled against wearing it again. We mainly did it for our own amusement, because she got really PO’d with it on. I don’t think she likes to be laughed at, either. HB was out of town, so no one was there to share the humor. Maybe tonight, even if it is one day late….

I am with everyone else – that pumpkin is so cute! Plus I think you are very motivated to fit in the carving before trick-or-treaters showed up.

I love the pumpkin!! HB’s Dad and I laughed for quite awhile when we saw the picture of our Grandcat. She looks a little PO’d but you definately got a great picture of her.

We only had 2 trick or treaters. Disappointing!
