Flowers that are fuschia
I’d all but given up this fuschia for dead.
You can actually see some of the dead parts in there. Basically, it was getting older, and I guess fuschias are notoriously short-lived and fussy. Nothing like having a fussy plant, eh?
Well, when I was at my friend’s wedding and HB was in charge of watering, it kind of croaked. But I kept watering it when I came back, because there were the tiniest little green leaves at the base of the dead branches, and I just didn’t have the heart to dump it in the trash.
And after about, lets see, has it been a month now? Yes. So, after about a month of watering it, it came back into bloom.
And now, I don’t have to regret not taking photos of it before the false alarm of death. Which, believe me, I was having some major bouts of regret.
But no more!
Because I went and took the time to bring it into the house and get photos with good lighting (not shown yet), I’m going to space out the photos over the course of several days.
If you feel like you can’t wait, they are all on Flickr already. But since I haven’t been posting much lately, I thought a burst of posts might be kind of nice.
I like that one, because it looks like an alien to me.
Do you see it?

Squirl says:
How lovely. I have a fuschia that’s not looking so good since I got back from vacation. I’ll just keep giving it some tlc and see. Your’s looks great!
Ern says:
They are beautiful! A notoriously short-lived and fussy plant would be a terrible idea for me, since I kill all plants. Not intentionally, you understand.
Danielle says:
Yeah Ern, I had no idea they were so problematic when I bought it, or I probably wouldn’t have done so.
I hope someone is watering your plants while you are gone, Squirl.
