Flowers for Friday – pink with a yellow star

DSC_5634

These are the flowers that I fell in love with at Home Dee-pot the other weekend and they have just been a joy to have around.

I like how they look very ruffly in this next photo.

I of course, had to do my share of close-ups, because I just loved the star shape in the center.

and in large – be sure to check this one out! Especially take note of the pollen in the center.

This next one is just a slightly different angle, but I really like it too and couldn’t decide between this and the one before. So, you get to see both!

and in large

This is what my little camera studio looked like.

DSC_5629 the process

Yes, they are sitting on top of a tissue box. And note how the Girlie is close by. She was actually sniffing around the tripod at one point. But even though I had my camera detached from the tripod at the time, I had my macro lens on the camera at the time and wouldn’t have been able to get a good shot of her.

Well, I hope you enjoy these photos. I know I enjoyed taking them and looking at them. :-D

I really have no idea, unfortunately. They were only labeled on the price tag, which I ripped off and promptly forgot. I do know they start with a P and reminded me of petunia….

Aren’t they gorgeous! So unusual looking, especially for winter. I’m glad I got them. I forgot to say they were only like $2.99 or $3.99.

I think those are Primrose. I Google Images/Primrose and found this:

They really are pretty. The ruffly/flowy look is quite interesting. I love how you showed your “studio”. It’s amazing what we’ll do to set up a shot. :)

We did to see Girlie Girl anyway. tee hee

Yay! We have the flower searcher on board. I guess I should call you The Botanist, Squirl. :-)

Primrose it is – and it Does start with a P. ;-)

What beautiful, cheerful flowers for the middle of winter. I especially like the close-ups of the pollen…they make the petals look like pink velvet. I may have to look for these myself.

I also like seeing your studio and the clever use of the tissue box : )

I love the close-ups you do! I especially like the last photo with the petal coming at you out of focus.

(P.S. Sorry how I sometimes post the same message twice – that’s what happens when you have unreliable internet!)

I’m always a big fan of the closeup flower pictures. It always gives such a surprising perspective. These are beautiful!
