Flowers for Friday – Flowering Tree

DSC_3396

All week long I have been seeing and enjoying this flowering tree in our front yard.

I had no idea that it was going to flower, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw the buds and the first flowers coming out.

I was hoping to photograph it on a sunny day, but I didn’t do it on Wednesday like I should’ve and it has been cloudy since then. Consequently, I am showing you pictures I took a couple hours ago. I kept hoping that the sun would come out to create some shadows and contrast, but not today. Probably tomorrow.

Tomorrow, it is supposed to be nice and sunny and 69 degrees. I think it will be a perfect day to go to the zoo! I had wanted to go to the zoo last Saturday with HB as a premature celebration of having everything turned in, but it was rainy both days last weekend. Not exactly weather for traipsing around the zoo.

Tomorrow though, ought to be perfect! Have a good weekend everyone!

Oooo!!!!! What a pretty tree. We don’t have any trees in our yard that have pretty flowers.

I actually like the picture without the sun. You can see how green the leaves are contrasted with the delicate white flowers.

    Have fun at the zoo!!

Thanks for all the pretty today!

I hope that you have fun at the zoo. Which one are you going to? Como Park? Or the big Minneapolis/St. Paul zoo?

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Texas Seestor – I like how the leaves look against the flowers too.

Ladybug – I really have no idea what kind of tree it is. It reminds me some of the tree we had back in MA that was really big and seemed to be a mulberry, but this one is not labeled and I’m just not a tree expert.

Amber – We are going to the big Minneapolis/St Paul zoo. I’m really looking forward to seeing the animals. I’ll probably have lots of pictures to share when we get back.

I love flowering trees. We have some kind of flowering apple decorative trees at work. I took pictures of them on a cloudy day and was wishing for a sunny day. The very next day we had solid blue sky so I got my butt right back out there. I should post them.

I was trying to figure out what kind of tree you have here. I can’t do it either. Seems like most people plant the decorative fruit trees. You’ll have to watch it to see if any fruit grows this year.

How exciting to have spring in your new house. Lots of nice surprises. :)

    Lovely pictures, thanks!
