Flowers for Friday – purple and orange orchid

Isn’t this one unusual?

I don’t think I ever mentioned it before, but last year at about this time of year (i.e. when everyone is sick and tired of snow and winter) there was an orchid show on Cape Cod.

There were an incredible number of sizes, shapes, and colors of orchids (which, of course, provided great fodder for photographs).

    That’s a lovely pic, as usual.

    But if I look at it just right, it looks like a yellow forked tongue coming right at me! Yikes!

    Are you gonna keep us posted as to whether HB makes it home this weekend?

    I know, this one, out of all of them, reminds me of Alien.

    I’ll let you know if/when he makes it home.

    Oh, and I am O-fficially cheered up now. He sent me an email in which he apologized AND told me a funny story that really has me grinning.
